Anne Marie’s Ranch Pinwheels

Updated: Mar 26, 2021

Growing up, our family friend used to make these tasty appetizers and they soon became a staple for parties chez nous (at our house). I brought them across the Atlantic and my French friends love them too! One even has me bring packets of Ranch seasoning for her when I come back from the States and she makes them for her parties (you know who you are!).

These are very easy to make, perfect for your ‘apéros dînatoires’ (parties serving hors d’oeuvres instead of dinner) and the recipe can also easily be doubled for larger groups. Just make sure they are well chilled before cutting. They can be made a day ahead, but any longer and they get soggy.

Anne Marie’s Ranch Pinwheels

Servings: Makes about 24 bite-sized pinwheels

Active time: 20 minutes

2 8-ounce (500 g) packs of cream cheese, softened

1 Ranch Dip packet (Hidden Valley for example) **If you cannot get the packets or prefer to make it yourself, here is a recipe. For buying in France, click here.

4 large flour tortillas or unsweetened crêpes (Recipe)

½ cup diced red pepper

½ cup diced celery

Thinly sliced turkey breast

In a small bowl, stir together the cream cheese and the Ranch Dip packet (or homemade seasoning). Spread the cream cheese mixture on the tortillas in a thin layer.

Sprinkle the red pepper and celery on the tortillas (I sprinkle mine on only one half of the tortilla to make it easier to roll after). Lay a slice of turkey breast over the vegetables.

Tightly roll the tortillas, put them on a plate and place 2 toothpicks in each roll-up to keep them in place. Wrap plastic wrap tightly over them. Chill for at least 3 hours. Slice in 1-inch (3 cm) slices (don’t serve the end pieces) and serve on a platter. Also good served with salsa.

And bon appétit!
